We really need your help.
As a prominent New Zealander there will be no shortage of worthy charities and causes asking you for help: for your time, for your money. It would be difficult to say “no”, and yet sometimes you must.
The Guardian Angels is a very different sort of charity: we operate on a shoe-string and we like it that way. We don’t really want to part people from their money: instead, what we need most is some of their time and some of their commitment.
The International Alliance of Guardian Angels NZ Charitable Trust really needs your help. We need your counsel, and we need you to lend us your good name. We do not specifically ask our Patrons to donate money to us – though we are grateful if they do. Instead, our Patrons are able to provide us with something that no amount of money can buy:
Credibility – the sort of credibility that comes with being associated with you. We are looking for Patrons who have credibility in our communities: not necessarily household names, not necessarily celebrities or even “personalities”. We need our Patrons to be “real people” who have a good name, and if that’s what you have we are very keen to have you on our team.
We promise not to consume a lot of your time, and we promise to never embarrass you.
We need you to be a spokesperson for us, and to be our advocate within the community. You have earned the community’s trust, and our fellow citizens Respect you and your opinions. If you tell our community that the Guardian Angels is a good thing, they will listen and they will act on your advice. And if you take the time to give us the benefit of your wisdom, we promise we will pay attention.
That is what we need from you.
There are many different ways that you can help us, as our Patron. Perhaps you would help us do a commercial, or an interview for television. Or perhaps it’s a timely and influential word offered in the right places. Perhaps it’s providing input into our Board of Trustees meetings, or a key note presentation at one of our events, or being photographed with us for our web site and publicity materials. You may even want to come out on a Patrol with us to see for yourself the work we do – we will guarantee your safety. You may have other, better ideas and we’d be keen to hear them.
How you help us is up to you.
