Everybody can help.

The Guardian Angels provide an opportunity for everybody in the community to help: there is always something that can be done.

Safety patrol

Our core service offering is our Community Safety Patrols. If you are over eighteen years of age (or over sixteen with your parent’s written permission) and willing to invest two-to-four hours per week — usually on a Friday or Saturday night — we would like to hear from you. Our Safety Patrols need willing Volunteers to patrol the streets of your neighborhood in teams of six. We are also looking for Chapter Leaders to organize and run Safety Patrols in your area. All training is provided free of charge. Interested? Why not fill out an Application Form and get the ball rolling?

Board of Trustees

Perhaps you would prefer to assist us at a more strategic level, as a member of our Governance team? The International Alliance of Guardian Angels New Zealand Charitable Trust is a charity registered with the NZ Charities Commission, and operated by a Board of Trustees. Our Board is always looking to supplement its skills and talent pool, and we are eager to welcome new, qualified Trustees around our Board Table. Alternatively, we are on the look-out for Patrons: high-profile New Zealanders who will lend us their wisdom, contacts, credibility and Good Name to our cause. We also need Lawyers, Auditors and Accountants who are willing to occasionally donate their services pro bono to the Guardian Angels.

Donations

Every organization requires funding, and the Guardian Angels is no exception. While we do our very best to operate from a shoe-string we are dependent upon our communities to support us through Donations. We would really appreciate your generosity: any amount, large or small will go a long, long way. Soon, New Zealanders will be able to donate to their favorite charities through their payroll: watch this space!

Bequests

Have you ever considered leaving a Bequest in your Will? An untagged Bequest to the Guardian Angels would help ensure that future generations of New Zealanders can live in safer communities. We have made it easy as possible for people to leave us bequests: here is a handy Bequest Form that you can complete and file with your Will. Why not discuss this with your solicitor next time you review your Estate planning?

Goods and services

Sometimes, it is easier to give goods or services “in-kind”, rather than money. The Guardian Angels need all sorts of things: from patrol equipment to prepaid Telecom cellphone airtime to train tickets to gym memberships — if money can buy it and a charity can use it, then the Guardian Angels probably need it and we would certainly be grateful for it.

Headquarters space

And finally, we are in need of Headquarters space, for both our Henderson and Auckland CBD Chapters. If you have some spare office / warehouse space that the Guardian Angels could use free-of-charge, we would love to hear from you. Better still if it is within walking distance of public transport. It doesn’t need to be up-market, and it doesn’t need to be in tidy shape: we’ll clean it up and look after it well, and as an added bonus our physical presence will help make the neighborhood safer.
