Accountable to our Community
The Guardian Angels operate in New Zealand under the auspices of a fully-autonomous Charitable Trust (#CC10258) registerd with the New Zealand Charities Commission. We have been granted Donee Status by the New Zealand Inland Revenue Department, allowing us to issue receipts for tax purposes for qualifying donations.
While we are a fully participating member of an International Alliance of similar organizations in 15 countries and 150 cities worldwide, it is important to note:
- All governance and operational decisions of the Trust are made in New Zealand, by New Zealanders, and for the benefit of New Zealanders.
- All of our funds are raised in New Zealand, kept on deposit in Trust onshore in a New Zealand-owned bank, spent on New Zealand-based programs, and reported to relevant New Zealand government authorities.
- Our National Headquarters is in Auckland, New Zealand, in the suburb of Henderson.
- We are governed by New Zealand laws.
Our Trust Deed requires a minimum of five (5) Trustees, consistent with current New Zealand law.
